The French school system has three stages: primary school, secondary school, and higher education. In France, children tend to go to school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with either Wednesday off or a half-day on Wednesday. School days are usually six to eight hours. In school, people in France learn Physical Education, French, Mathematics, History, Geography, Computing, Design and Technology, Science, Civic Education and at least one foreign language.
Many French schools are strict and punctual. As well as this, Many French schools don’t have a school uniforms. Some schools allow students to wear a hoodie and jeans, some don’t have a school uniform, but children wear polo shirts and trousers and schools with school uniforms have ties, shirts, trousers, blazers jumpers etc. In Year nine (4eme), children take up two foreign languages. Some children, cycle to school and some walk or drive. Schools with no school uniform still expect children to wear appropriate attire. Some lessons last fifty five minutes and in some French schools, when children have free time, assuming they live close to the school, they are allowed to go home.
Depending on the school, according to the timetable above, this school starts at eight-thirty (huit et demie) and finishes at five o’clock in the evening (dix-sept heures). As well as this, according to this timetable, on Wednesday, this school has no classes. In some schools, children go back home to have lunch (dejeuner).

Thank you for the info. I did not know that French schools have Wednesday as half a day.
