The new model army was a very good Idea. It was a completely different idea that had never been done before. Here is how we think a Newspaper article from the time about this would be like.
Divoc Times
The new Model Army is an Army that was set up by the Parliament was started on February of 1645. It first came into play at the Battle of Naseby, where the Parliamentarians won.
They employed Butchers and other people, it seemed like Parliament Just wanted the any Soldiers, but Parliament had a Smart Plan.
The King employed the Biggest names like The Prince Rupurt and The Duke of Newcastle, Big names, yes, but they lost every Battle. The Parliament however, just got the Best troops from Around the Country, and with these People took the King Down at the Battle of Naseby. Even after this War the Model army is still fighting. Since this Loss the King has Been on retreat from City to City, from Town to Town, from Village to Village. The Parliamentarians have been chasing him taking key Cities on the Way.
But why was the New Model Army So Good?
The Model Army was so good as it took very good fighters and turned them into Soldiers. Before this you the people from the Parliament did not allow you and the people from the King’s Army did not want you. The King only wanted the Rich wealthy people like, as I said before Prince Rupurt and The Duke of Newcastle.
They were big names but were not that patient or good at fighting. On one fight The Prince was tired of waiting and decided to attack and he Lost. On a different fight, The Duke arrived late and was defeated within one hour.
Oliver Cromwell, unfolding only now as a tactical genius, was on the Parliamentarian side and he won almost all of the wars he commanded.
During this War a lot of the soldiers in The New Model Army converted to Puritanism.
